Bulk update forward season supplier rates somehow
in discovery
Customers want the ability to bulk update rates so the task of updating next seasons rates is not so time consuming.
As an example
When we are loading the new rates seasons for a product (for accommodation mainly) eg. Superior Suite, we load the option (eg Double Room) with 4-5 different date bands and rates, from here we need to be able to copy that option’s pricing and dates to other options within that product, eg. Twin Room, Single Room etc. At the moment, we enter the exact same dates and rates up to 4-5 times for each date band and then duplicate this a further 4 times into each option. That equates to duplicating 12-20 sets of rates (depending on the amount of options) that are normally the same, unnecessarily. Making each Product within a Supplier 4 times as long to enter as it should be.
Can AI help?
Rates are provided by suppliers in wildly different formats and saved as PDF. Word. Excel, CSV, Slides or sometimes just as email content.
We need to interpret the hotel rate data, sometimes make calculations to add or deduct taxes or commission variables then add using the Tourwriter import CSV file or one by one manually into Tourwriter.

The CSV update function is still not a great option... The date format is very strict and actually annoying, it relies on previous seasons having already been entered (unless I'm missing something) and it is very prone to making mistakes in the pricing updates...
Ideally we should have a unique display to enter all rate seasons within Tourwriter rather open a new display for each single season... And being able to type the dates rather than having to use use the mouse to browse through the months and select the date manually on the calendar is so time consuming for a process that already takes a long time when you consider the amount of suppliers and products we have to update...

The first stage of a better way to bulk update rates somehow was release last week. We have enabled a CSV import. Details here https://learn.tourwriter.com/portal/en/kb/articles/how-to-import-supplier-rates-csv
Are next stage involves investigating a few different things. One of them is integrating with rate feeds or XML or consolidators... If you have ideas add them to here https://tourwriter.canny.io/feature-requests/p/integrate-with-suppliers-for-rates-using-api-or-xml-or-something-else
We are also investigating how AI can interpret rate PDFs/CSV and convert the data into a format that cvan be imported in Tourwriter.
