Problem statement
As a User I want Tourwriter to offer more granular control over which data fields are carried over to the new duplicated itinerary so I can retain Agents details or Traveller details when duplicating instead of needing to manually add this information later.
Background
This concept focuses on improving the existing 'Duplicate Itinerary' feature by giving you granular control over which data fields are carried over to the new copy. This approach is primarily aimed at supporting the Iterative Proposal Drafting use case so you can retain Agents/Traveller etc data when duplicating instead of needing to manually add this information later
  • When clicking 'Duplicate,' the user would be presented with a dialog allowing them to select which data fields they want to Include/Exclude over to the new itinerary
  • Fields to include could be Itinerary details, Agent details, traveller details, booking references, contributors, tags, notes, pricing/quote details, itinerary status
  • Duplicating an itinerary should never copy booking status or payments as you should never have duplicate booking data in an active itinerary
We believe this solution would help users who create multiple versions of an itinerary before the booking is confirmed, ensuring all quote history is retained within separate, linked itineraries whilst still allowing users to duplicate clean itineraries for use with new travellers and agents.
